Jérémy Reymond, an engineer by training, began his career with a very specific passion in mind: motorsports. From the start of his studies, he focused on this field, driven by the ambition to contribute to this dynamic and demanding world. His career path led him to work for a manufacturer, where he had the unique opportunity to apply his skills to motorsports. Among his most notable achievements, he played a key role in developing part of the 908 simulator for Peugeot Sport, a contribution that helped the team win the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Jérémy Reymond Joins Astek
Having known the Group for several years, Jérémy Reymond saw Astek as an opportunity to return to a model he was familiar with, while reuniting with colleagues he had previously worked with, such as Nicolas Boisseaux, Olivier Lienhart, and Julien Gavaldon. After working at various companies—all of which contributed to his professional development—Jérémy was drawn to and convinced by Astek’s rapid growth and the Group’s ambitions.
Jérémy joined Astek as director of the Energy Transportation department for the Île-de-France and Northern France regions, a position previously held by Florian Davoine, who is now director of CATEP. Today, his main short-term goal is to integrate into the team and bring a new dynamic to it. Indeed, “right now, my top priority is to build connections within my team.” On the business side, Jérémy is focusing on the challenges facing the automotive sector today, considering diversification and exploring opportunities with manufacturers where Astek does not yet have a presence.
A passion for the automotive industry and motorsports
Coming from a family with deep roots in the world of motorsports, Jérémy Reymond was immersed in this passion from a very young age. His father, who competed in the European Rally Championships, as well as his cousin and uncle—all of whom were involved in rally racing—nurtured this love for competition. At the age of 5, he made his debut on a motorcycle, and at 12, his father introduced him to karting, marking the beginning of an exciting adventure.
This passion has shaped his educational and professional journey, giving him a sense of balance, a strong family bond, and, above all, a valuable sense of humility. As he himself says, “Competition has taught me humility, balance, and strength of character.” Today, he applies these qualities to his work, seeking to inspire his team with the values of discipline and humility instilled by motorsports.
Jérémy Reymond’s Perspective on the Automotive Industry
For Jérémy Reymond, the automotive industry is cyclical by nature. Despite the difficulties encountered this year, he remains convinced that, as always, the sector will eventually rebound. He discusses the challenges associated with the transition to electric vehicles, particularly the impact of Chinese auto parts suppliers and the slowdown in electric vehicle sales following the reduction of government subsidies in Europe.
“I think electric vehicles were kept afloat by government subsidies… now that all that has fallen through, we’re rebalancing between diesel, gasoline, and electric.”
Upcoming Projects at Astek
The first initiative Jérémy hopes to undertake at Astek is focused on people: driving his team to excel, despite the challenging industry environment. To that end, he is currently working on new management strategies. Retaining talent is also a priority, as are optimizing internal skills and recruiting new talent.
With Jérémy at the helm of the Transportation and Energy department, Astek is well-positioned to attract new candidates and clients through a passionate and authentic approach. “We’ll know how to connect with candidates; we’ll speak to them with passion, and we’ll speak to clients with passion.” That’s the strength he intends to bring to the company, and he’s determined to make that passion a driving force for everyone’s success.
